Dunvegan's Joe Vrbetic made 27 saves against the USA to backstop Team Canada Black to a 5-4 victory this afternoon at the World U17 Hockey Challenge in New Brunswick.
The result completes the team's round-robin action with 1 regulation-time win, 1 overtime win, and 1 overtime loss, for six points.
This was Vrbetic's second game at the tournament. He was also between the pipes on Sunday, when his team fell 5-4 in overtime to Team Canada White. On Monday, with Garin Bjorklund in goal, Team Canada Black won in overtime, 3-2, over the Czech Republic.
