With a 5-3 win in their semifinal match this morning, the girls from École secondaire catholique Le Relais are on to the gold-medal final at 'A' OFSAA soccer in Toronto, set to play École secondaire catholique Jean-Vanier from Welland in the championship match, at 3pm.
Les Rapides scoring in the semi were Angelina Gendreau 2, Sara Carrière 2, and Chloé Legault.
Playing their third match of the day today, Le Relais' senior girls soccer team still had plenty of gas in the tank, battling to a 5-0 triumph over 5-0 vs La Jeunesse from Windsor. Goal scoring in this was led by Sara Carrière who found the back of the opposing net four times. Angelina Gendreu scored one.
The OFSAA 'A' semifinals are booked for a 9am start Friday morning.
The girls from Le Relais closed out OFSAA 'A' soccer round-robin action this afternoon with a decisive 8- thrashing of Étienne Brulé. Markswomen were Angelina Gendreau with 3, Chloé Legault, Danika Decoeur, Alexie Carrière, Sara Carrière, and Olivia Décoeur.
Le Relais finished second in its pool, with a 3-1 record.
The quarter-finals are up next, with Les Rapides slated to play later today at 5pm. The girls are matched up against the top seed from the B pool, Lajeunesse.

Les Rapides dropped their opener 5-2 to ÉS Jean Vanier, with Le Relais goals notched by Angeline Gendreau.
Gendreau scored twice in her team's second game as well, as Le Relais blanked St. Paul 5-0. Also striking were Sara Carrière, with two, and Olivia Decoeur.
The girls are resting up tonight, with two more round-robin matches to play Thursday.
The May 31 edition of The Glengarry News includes a story about local high school athletes who have qualified for OFSAA track and field, which will be held later this week in Belleville.
Among them are East Regionals gold medallist and senior boys pole vault record-setter Brennan Seguin, from Char-Lan. Other Crusaders, as well as athletes from GDHS, Tagwi, and Le Relais earned qualification results too and will advance to the provincial meet.
