The season came to an end for Maxville's Junior C hockey team Wednesday night, as the Mustangs suffered their first road loss of the playoffs, enough to drop the opening-round series to Embrun, four games to two.
For the Maxville club, the game-six 6-3 loss came on the heels of a debacle on home ice Tuesday night that gave top-seeded Embrun its first lead in the series.
With the hockey season over for the Mustangs, the Panthers now move on to the East Division finals against Vankleek Hill after the Cougars topped St. Isidore in the other semifinal series.
