Holy Trinity wins OFSAA basketball consolation semi
Today on the floor at St. Joseph's, the senior boys basketball team from Holy Trinity held on for a 38-37 victory in a consolation semifinal game against Arthur Voaden Secondary School from St. Thomas.
After a first quarter that saw the teams tied at eight points apiece, the Falcons fell behind Arthur Voaden, trailing by as much as seven points, but a strong effort in the final quarter led by Kevin Aleinik and Dave McDonell gave the local side the advantage as they held on for the one-point victory despite the St. Thomas troop having a chance to tie from the line with 2.2 seconds left on the clock.
