Badminton takes over high school gymnasiums

Last week, the sport of badminton dominated the high school schedule, as the SD&G championships were held.

Holy Trinity, largely on the strength of  4 medals, prevailed to nab the overall school title.  With the results, two gold and two silver medals, six Falcon athletes in all qualified for the regional tournament, EOSSAA, to be held April 22 in Casselman.  The student-athletes advancing are Kevin Aleinik, Ben McAllister, Jordan Rochon, Siobhan Levere, Paige Jeaurond, and Stacy Novy.

Two GDHS Gaels also will be going to EOSSAA.  Vanessa St. Pierre and Shane Pilon won gold in the mixed doubles at the SD&G tourney.
