Great Raisin River Foot Race returns soon
The Great Raisin River Foot Race will again be part of the Williamstown Fair in August, though runners are encouraged to register early, before June 30, if they wish to order a special T-shirt that recognizes the history of one of the community's institutions, the Nor'Westers and Loyalist Museum.
This year, the commemorative T-shirt is an option, as organizers wanted to keep the race entry fee as low as possibly to encourage family participation. Entry to the August 9 race costs just $15 and can be completed online by clicking here. T-shirts can also be ordered through this link for runners, while others interested in ordering just the T-shirt ($15) should call Race Directors Sheila and Wendell Lafave at 613-347-3206.
Special Clinic
On the Wednesday prior to race day, noted runner Bill Rodgers, a four-time winner of both the Boston Marathon and the New York City Marathon, will visit Williamstown for a free clinic. The event will be held August 5, starting at 6 p.m. at the fairgrounds, to be followed by a "friendship run."
