Free running clinic to be held in Williamstown tonight

Noted marathoner Bill Rodgers will offer a free running clinic tonight (Aug. 5) in Williamstown as part of the lead-up to the 31st running of the Great Raisin River Foot Race.

The clinic begins at The Meeting Place on the fairgrounds and 6 p.m. and will be followed by a friendship run.  Donations will be accepted on behalf of Rodgers for Prostate Cancer Canada.

The actual foot race itself will be held Sunday morning and will include guest runner Ed Whitlock, the world record holder for marathoning for runners over the age of 70.  A kids fun race is booked for 8:45 a.m., followed by a 5 km race starting at 9 a.m. and the 11 km event at 9:05 a.m.
