Hawks junior A hockey team pulls off 4-player trade
The Hawkesbury Hawks have completed a four-player deal with the Ottawa Jr Senators.
The Hawks say good-bye to Hunter Gunski and Mike Finger, and in return say hello to Johnathan Kovacevic and Kyle Hillick.
Kovacevic is a 1997-born, 6 ft., 3in, 220 lb. defenceman who has an NCAA Division 1 commitment to Merrimack. He's skated in 73 regular-season games in the CCHL, collecting 7 goals, 22 assists, and 26 PIMS. He also helped Ottawa reach the semifinals last year adding 3 points in 10 games.
Kyle Hillick is a 6 ft., 3 in., 190 lb. winger and former teammate of Liam Manning at Tilton Prep. This year Hillick has 6 goals and 5 assists in 20 games.
"Adding some more size and offence was something we wanted to do. We got some more league experience to help in the second half as well," said Hawks GM Ian Henderson.
The Hawks would like to wish Hunter and Mike all the best on their new team.
