Players sought for Williamstown outdoor charity hockey tournament

Dec. 26 and 27 will see a third annual charity hockey tournament held  at the outdoor rink in Williamstown, and organizer Allister Macdonell is looking for players. Entry is just $10, with all funds raised going to the Julie MacLachlan Foundation, which supports people dealing with illness in our community.

Saturday, December 26 is for kids in Grades 6-9, and Sunday, December 27 is set aside for those in Grade 10 and up.

There will be a canteen available for lunch. Teams can be up to 10 players, with 30-minute games of five-on-five play. The event is scheduled to begin at 10am each day, though the exact schedule will be confirmed once all teams are registered.

Macdonell invites players to contact him through the Facebook event page or by phone at 613-360-1758. Registration deadline is December 21.

The event will proceed regardless of the weather. It will be ball hockey if there is no ice.
