Braves upend junior A Colts in CCHL Thursday night action
The Brockville Braves shaded the Cornwall Colts 3-2 at the Ed Lumley Arena on Thursday evening.
A last-second goal by Nick Lalonde (his 16th of the season) was too little, too late for the Colts, whose record drops to 19-16-2-1, with 41 points and seventh place overall in the CCHL. Lawson MacDonald had a goal (12) and assist for the Colts. The Colts outshot the Braves 35-25, with Brett Nichol getting the loss in goal. His record falls to 1-5-2 on the season.
Three Stars were First Star Neil Robinson (Braves), Second Star Henry Johnson (Braves), and Third Star Lawson MacDonald (Colts). The Hardest Working Colts player was Matthew Morin.
The Colts are back on the ice for a game against the Hawks in Hawkesbury Friday night. Game time at the Bob Hartley Sports Complex is 7:30pm.
Closing out the pre-Christmas schedule, the team will return to the Ed Lumley Arena on Sunday, December 20, for an afternoon contest with the Nepean Raiders. Game time is 3pm for Cornwall Girls Hockey Association Game Day.
Also on Sunday, Santa Claus will be taking free photos with children 12 and under from 12:30pm to 2:30pm in Salon C at the Civic Complex. All children 12 and under getting their photo taken with Santa will receive a free ticket to the Colts game versus Nepean.
