Heartbreaker: Glens drop game two in OT

Alexandria Glens goaltender Nick Campbell had a stellar game, stopping 51 shots and preventing any dangerous rebounds, but it wasn't enough, as the boys went down 9:07 into the first 10-minute overtime period, falling 4-3 in game two of their CCHL2 playoff series with the Casselman Vikings.

The loss puts the Glens behind the proverbial eight ball, now trailing in the series 2-0.

Alexandria had plenty on its side in this contest, including a strong number of enthusiastic fans filling the stands, Campbell's steady play, and solid defence too. The Glens did get 26 shots on the Casselman net and had stretches of pressure in the attacking zone. The boys also had a lead for a few minutes (from the 17:30 mark of the second to the 1:17 point of the third), their first lead of the series.

Game three is set for Sunday night in Casselman, starting at 7:30pm, and then the series will be back in Alexandria on Tuesday.

We will have more in the next edition of The Glengarry News.
