Laggan draws first blood in senior women's soccer final series

The Laggan senior women's soccer team trailed much of the night, but battled back to win game one of the GSL's championship series with a 4-3 effort over Vankleek Hill.

Melissa Bellefeuille scored twice for Vankleek Hill to give her team a 2-0 lead. In the second half, Laggan was back on even terms after markers from Emily Vallance and Courtney Henderson.

However, Vankleek Hill found itself once more in front when Natasha Brodie was successful off a deep free kick opportunity.

Laggan later got the equalizer from Fannie Desforges who bagged the game-winning tally with 10 minutes left.

The series continues with matches slated for Aug. 26, 28, and 31 (if needed), and Sept. 2 (if needed), all at the Lochiel pitch with kickoff booked for 8:30 p.m.
