16-year-old shot in hunting accident

A 16-year-old is recovering from non-life-threatening injuries after he was shot in a leg March 18 while goose hunting in The Nation. The incident occurred in a field east of North Dixon Factory Road, near Chartrand Road, adjacent to the South Nation River. The victim and another 16-year-old were hunting when a shotgun accidentally discharged. The teenager was transported to hospital via air ambulance. At the time of this release, no charges had been laid, reports the Hawkesbury Ontario Provincial Police detachment.
