GSL senior men's title will be decided Friday

A spirited, high-scoring game four on Wednesday night failed to settle matters, so the Glengarry Soccer League's senior men's title will come down to a winner-take-all game five final on Friday night in Greenfield.

The Greenfield men had the  Drillers on the ropes heading into action on Wednesday, needing a win in the match to score the championship.  But the Drillers had other ideas, leading by as much as three goals in the second half before Greenfield rallied to knot the affair at 6-6 moments before the full-time whistle.

In extra time, Marc Seguin capped off his stellar night offensively, using his head to score his hat trick marker, but more importantly for the Drillers, secure the 7-6 victory and force game five.

The deciding match is slated to kick off at 8:30 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 4 in Greenfield.

The rosters on both sides may be trimmed as a result of eight yellow cards assessed in the Wednesday night match, some of which may force several players to watch from the sidelines.
