Casselman hammers Alexandria and Char-Lan

The Casselman Vikings seem to have found the answer to beating both of the county's Junior B hockey teams.

Last Thursday in Williamstown, the Vikings blasted Char-Lan 7-1, topping the Rebels for the first time this season in four meetings. The lone Char-Lan goal came from Justin Villeneuve.

On Saturday night in Alexandria, it was much the same story, as Casselman scored on each of its first four shots, en route to a 9-1 romp over the Glens. Hugo Pouliot was the only Glen to find the back of the net. Adam Wensink, who hails from the Maxville area, was among the goal scorers for the Vikings. Alexandria's coach, Marc Sauve, called the game an eye opener, noting he saw too much individual play on the night. For Ray Lavergne, Casselman's coach, his team's great start set the tempo for the game.

Other results

Alexandria 8 (Alexander Stephenson 3, Hugo Pouliot 2, Adam Simpson 2, Leo MacLean) vs Winchester 4

Char-Lan 6 (Derrick Villeneuve 4, Ryan Herrington, Thomas Lang) vs Morrisburg 4

Looking ahead

The Glens will play in Casselman on Thursday, Dec. 17, starting at 7:30 p.m. Friday night, the team will host Akwesasne with an 8 p.m. opening puck drop.  Look for Coach Marc Sauve to be dressed up as Santa Claus.

Friday night, the boys will be on the road, while Saturday night the team will host in Williamstown.  Game time is 7:45 p.m.  After the game, The Rebels will host a Christmas dance featuring a special visit from a Johnny Cash and Elvis impersonator.  All friends and fans are welcome.
