High school hockey hits this ice this week

High school girls and boys hockey teams will be in action this week with tournaments booked for Tuesday and Wednesday in Long Sault.

Boys hockey

On Tuesday, Jan. 12, Char-Lan's boys will start things off with an 8 a.m. match against CCVS. The Crusaders will also play at 10 a.m. versus St. Joseph's, then at 1 p.m. against North Dundas.  Holy Trinity's boys, meanwhile, are booked to play at 9 a.m., noon, and 2 p.m. versus North Dundas, St. Joseph's, and CCVS respectively. The other game of the day, at 11 a.m., will see CCVS play North Dundas. For both Char-Lan and Holy Trinity, this tourney will mark their first league play of the season, with all other teams having played at an event last month in Chesterville.

Girls hockey

The girls teams from GDHS and Holy Trinity will collide in a 9 a.m. match to be played Wednesday, Jan. 13 in Long Sault. An hour later, the Gaels will play again, facing off against North Dundas, while the Falcons are booked to play a second contest at 11 a.m. also against the Devils.
