High school sports on tap this week
The high school sports scene will be in full swing this week with boys basketball, girls volleyball, boys hockey, and curling action scheduled.
Boys basketball
Char-Lan DHS is slated to host Tagwi on Thurs., Feb. 11, to wrap up the regular season of boys high school basketball. Games are schedule for 1 and 2:30 p.m.
The playoff schedule will open Tues., Feb. 16 with the quarters and semis, with the finals booked for two days later. All games will be played at the home gym of the highest seed.
Girls volleyball
Wed., Feb. 10, Char-Lan will host girls volleyball, starting at 1 p.m., with teams from Rothwell-Osnabruck and L'Heritage visiting. Tagwi will host St. Joseph's and La Citadelle on Thurs., Feb. 11, beginning at 1 p.m.
Playoff quarter- and semifinals are scheduled for Thurs., Feb. 18 at the home of the top senior and junior seeds.
Boys hockey
The Char-Lan Rec Centre will host boys hockey on Wed., Feb. 10, with the first game slated to start at 8 a.m. between Char-Lan DHS and Holy Trinity.
- 9 a.m.: GDHS vs St. Joseph's
- 10 a.m.: Char-Lan vs La Citadelle
- 11 a.m.: GDHS vs Holy Trinity
- noon: St. Joseph's vs La Citadelle
- 1 p.m.: Char-Lan vs GDHS
- 2 p.m.: Holy Trinity vs La Citadelle
Curling
Day one of the SD&G bonspiel is booked for the Morrisburg Curling Club on Wed., Feb. 10, with a second stage set for Feb. 12. Teams from Char-Lan, GDHS, Holy Trinity, and Tagwi are expected to compete.
