The Canadian Nationals 125 is up next at Cornwall Motor Speedway

Cornwall, Ont – Tuesday July 27, 2010 – Martin Bélanger – The Cornwall Motor Speedway will host of his biggest event of the year this Sunday with the last race of the Canadian Nationals Mini-Series for the Modified plus a complete show in Sportsman, Pro-Stock and Mini-Stock on Pennzoil and Jiffy Auto Service Night. 

The Canadian Nationals will bring a lot of hype and action with a unique 125-lap feature race format with the winner leaving Cornwall with $5,000 in his pocket and will also be qualified for Syracuse. The first 75 laps will be on green flag conditions with a 10-minute break with cars parked on the front stretch and race teams will be able to work on the cars during that time. The yellow flags will count for the remainder of the race, with the last 2 laps of the feature that are needed to be on green conditions. This format will allow fans to see the teams work on their cars and see what kind of strategy they will use for the second part of the race. 

The first race of the series was completed on May 23rd with Brett Hearn winning the race in front of Clément Therrien and Carey Terrance. The 34 drivers that attended the first race will be eligible in $13,000 in money and prizes if they are present at the second race. A draw for the Bicknell Chassis will occur during the intermission along with a VP Race Fuel drum that will also be part of the draw. 

At the end of the 2-race series, a champion will be crowned and receive a nice cheque of $3,000 along with the coveted title of Canadian National Champion. A quality field is expected with drivers from Quebec, Ontario and United-States already confirmed for Sunday. 

The Sportsman, Pro-Stock and Mini-Stock classes are also on this exciting racing card and will bring a lot of excitement during the evening. The pit gates are scheduled to open at 3:30pm with admission costs at $40,00, the general admission will open at 4pm and people will have to pay $28,00 for adult admission and 20$ for students and seniors with children 12 years old and under admitted for free.
