Loucks named player of the game

Former Apple Hill resident Jakob Loucks is already getting plenty of attention in CIS football, as a rookie quarterback with the Mount Allison (New Brunswick) Mounties. The freshman was named player of the game last weekend, when he racked up 238 yards passing and 76 yards rushing, in a 20-12 win over Acadia. 

It was the first win of the season for the Mounties, following three losses to open the campaign.

Loucks was 26 for 40 in passing, in the Oct. 1 contest. On the season, he has a 53.6% pass completion rating and 709 yards. The 5 ft 10 in., 195 lb. pivot is enrolled in the B.A. program, studying psychology.
