A new series will see light at Cornwall Motor Speedway for the upcoming season, as the Mini-Stock division will have a new three-race series: the Cindy Ladouceur Memorial Series.
Interest was immediate at the Mini-Stock meeting. In looking at how to enhance programming for this group, the speedway asked race teams if a three-race series would be something that could interest them. The response was positive, with the Ladouceur family already contacting the speedway before the meeting was completed.
The father and son duo of Rheal and Terry Ladouceur are behind the creation of this new series that will honour Cindy Ladouceur, who passed away after a battle with cancer. The Ladouceur family will offer a hefty points funds of $1,500 for the top five finishers. The series champion will receive $700, second $350, third $200, fourth $150, and fifth $100.
Along with the point's fund, several sponsors and close friends of the Ladouceurs have decided to contribute as well, helping to increase the appeal of this series to drivers. In all, over $2,500 has been committed for prizes.
The series will be run on May 21, June 25, and Aug. 6. Each round will be a 25-lap event.
