Everything was ready for a great night of racing to open the 2017 season at the Cornwall Motor Speedway, until rain began to fall during the final heat in the Modifieds class. As a result, the remainder of the evening's slate was postponed. As well, it was decided to cancel the whole program slated for Victoria Day.
The final qualifying race and the 125-lap Canadian Nationals has been pushed to Sunday, July 2, with the rest of the planned show for the other divisions being part of the Canada Day festivities.
The Race for the Cure Sportsman Series will be run on Sunday, May 28, along with a complete race program for Modified, Pro-Stock, and Mini-Stock classes, along with the Slick Track Enduro.
A new date for the Quebec Mini-Mod is pending.
The 25-lap Cindy Ladouceur Memorial feature will be completed on Sunday, June 11, as part of the regularly scheduled program that evening.
Keep your tickets
If you are holding tickets from last weekend's rainout events, make sure to keep them. Speedway staff advise that you have the next three weeks to use them, as they will be honoured for racing on May 28, June 4, or June 11. You will be reimbursed any difference in ticket price.
