For the third straight season, the CCHL2 will open its season with a 16-team showcase, in Ottawa, on Saturday, September 9 and Sunday, September 10 at the Richcraft Sensplex.

As part of the action, the Alexandria Glens and Char-Lan Rebels will each play a game on each of the days of the showcase. Be sure to check out The Glengarry News for a preview of the season from the perspective of our local clubs.

Aside from opening weekend, the CCHL2 (Eastern Ontario's junior 'B' hockey league) has many other exciting matchups of note throughout the regular season.

On Tuesday, September 12, the new Carleton Place Jr. Canadians will host the Athens Aeros in their inaugural home opener. Two days later, it's a rematch of the Barkley Cup final series, as the four-time defending champion Casselman Vikings host the Richmond Royals.

On Friday, September 15, the new Embrun Panthers host the Ottawa Canadians in their home opener. The next night, the new Whitewater Kings bring hockey to Cobden, as they open against their closest rival, the Renfrew Timberwolves.

The CCHL2 regular season will conclude on Sunday, February 25.
