The junior 'A' Colts scored three unanswered goals en route to a 5-3 home-ice victory over the Navan Grads on Thursday night.

Navan led 2-0 and then 3-2 late in the second period.

David Poirier’s first goal was the eventual game-winner with seven minutes left the third period, before Chris Theodore’s (4) highlight-reel marker sealed the victory with two and half minutes left to play.

Poirier added two assists. Keegan Mulhearn (3) scored twice, with Justin McRae (2) also scoring. Evan Bidenti counted a pair of helpers.

The Grads outshot the Colts 39-38, with Liam Lascelle making 36 saves for the victory. The Colts improve to 3-3-0-0 (6 points) on the CCHL season.

The county's own Keegan Mulhearn earned Hardest Working Player of the Game honours.

Three Stars were first Keegan Mulhearn (COR), second David Poirier (COR), and third Keenan Reynolds (NAV).

Cornwall's next contest is slated for Sunday afternoon against the Canadians in Carleton Place. Game time is 3 pm.

Next Thursday (Sept. 21), the Colts will be back on home ice at the Civic Complex to face off against the Kemptville 73s. The Colts will also welcome Big Brothers & Big Sisters of Cornwall and District, with support from the Cornwall Lions Club. Game time is 7:30 pm.
