Cornwall junior A Colts extend winning streak to four games

Konnor MacCormick and Jeremy Quesnel each had a hat trick, as the Colts whipped Kemptville 9-3 on Teddy Bear Toss night at the Ed Lumley Arena. David Poirier also had a career game, with a goal and four assists.

The Colts improved 17-13-4-1 (39 points) and are now on a four-game winning streak.

Ethan Mulhearn and Joseph Samson also scored for the Colts. Brennan Markell recorded three assists. Thirteen different Colts players picked up at least a point.

Liam Lascelle earned the victory in goal as the shots were tied 34-34.

The Hardest Working Colts Player was Jeremy Quesnel. Three Stars were first Konnor MacCormick (COR), second David Poirier (COR), and third Ashton Fry (KEM).

The game was also Teddy Bear Toss Night with hundreds of stuffed toys being thrown onto the ice after the Colts scored their first goal of the night. The stuffed toys were collected by the Optimist Club for their annual Christmas toy drive.

Looking ahead, the Colts will be back in action on Thursday, Dec. 14, when they host Pembroke. Game time is set for 7:30 p.m. at the Ed Lumley Arena (Cornwall Civic Complex).

The Colt's next road game is booked for Friday, Dec. 15 in Alexandria, against the Hawkesbury Hawks at the Glengarry Sports Palace. This one will be an 8 p.m. start.

Tomorrow, Dec. 10, tthe Colts will be taking part in the 3rd Annual Benson Colts Charity Hockey Game in support of St. Vincent De Paul Society. Local celebrities will be lining up alongside the Colts. Admission is $5 or non-perishable food items. Post-game party will be held at Shoeless Joe’s Cornwall with proceeds of all food sales being donated to St. Vincent De Paul.  Game time is 2 p.m. at Cornwall's multi-sport complex (Pad 1).
