Five third-period goals were too much to overcome, as the Rockland Nationals doubled the Colts 6-3 Thursday night at the Ed Lumley Arena.
The night could be summed up at the 13:47 mark of the third with Liam Lascelle out of the net for the extra attacker for an upcoming Rockland penalty, when one of the Colts forwards made a drop pass from centre ice that curled into the Colts net. Rockland added two short-handed markers in the frame to seal the victory.
Tommy Tanner (with his 8th of the season) paced the Colts offence with a goal and an assist. Konnor MacCormick (14) and the newest Colts forward Noah Williams (1) also scored.
Rockland outshot the Colts 41-22 with Liam Lascelle getting tagged with the loss.
Cornwall's record falls to 20-15-4-1 (45 points) in sixth place in the CCHL standings.
The Hardest Working Colts Player award went to Tommy Tanner. Three Stars were first Shawn Kennedy (ROC), second Trevor Coykendall (ROC), and third Tommy Tanner (COR). JD Pogue was honoured as the Colts Player of the Month.
