Cornwall Wildcats OFC football team set to kick off 2019 season on the road

The OFC Wildcats are scheduled to kick off their 2019 season in Toronto, playing the Thunder on May 18.

This summer marks a decade for the program, which offers provincial-level football for U20 athletes.

As the organization notes, "Wildcats players have gone on to play junior and university football, and to be drafted into the CFL. [As well,] our local coaches have gone on to be provincial and university level coaches.

The squad has a bye in week two and will play on the road versus the Oshawa Hawkeyes on June 1.

Cornwall's home opener, at Joe. St. Denis Field, is slated for Saturday, June 8, starting at 4 p.m.

Kirby Camplin returns to his role as head coach and will also serve as offensive co-ordinator. On offence, he will be assisted by Mitch Zappitelli, Jarret St. John, Costa Zarifi, and Dylan Hambleton.

The defensive co-ordinator is Alex Labonte, whose staff includes Jesse St. John, Kyle Labelle, Stephane Bigras, and Todd Sabourin.

Alex Zarifi is also part of the coaching crew, serving as film guy and general gofer.

Amongst the Glengarry boys on the roster are Max Sabourin, Steffon Lee, Derek Howes, Eric Cumberbatch, Patrick Cumberbatch, Alex Este, Rylan Duhart, and Odin Marfurt-Breakenridge. The squad also has Tagwi representation with Schuyler Schellenberg, Connor MacMillan, Tyler Murray, and Grayson Rutters.
