High school basketball schedule juggled, again

sean Feb 12, 2019 - 4:45pm

Today's school closures due to the approaching winter storm forced the postponement of a slate of high school boys basketball games that were to wrap up regular-season play. Instead, the matches will now be played Thursday, Feb. 14. St. Lawrence is the host. Tagwi's senior squad is booked to play twice (at 10 a.m. versus l'Heritage and 1 p.m. against the Saints), while the junior Warriors will take on St. Lawrence at 11:30 a.m.

As a result of this change, 'A' playoffs, originally slated for Thursday, have been moved.

The senior tournament will go Friday at St. Lawrence. Joining the Saints will be Glengarry, Tagwi, and l'Heritage, though seeding won't be finalized until the Thursday's games have been played. Semifinals are slated for 9:30 and 11 a.m., with the championship game at 1 p.m.

Junior 'A' playoffs are now scheduled for Feb. 19, at la Citadelle. Char-Lan and St. Lawrence are scheduled to battle in a semifinal, at 11 a.m., while the other, at 9:30 a.m., will feature the host Patriotes against either Seaway or Tagwi (depending on the result of the Warriors' game on Thursday). The title tilt is slated for a 1 p.m. start.
