Char-Lan pole vaulters lead the way heading to EOSSAA

sean May 16, 2017 - 3:10pm

Heading into this week's EOSSAA track and field meet in Brockville, the pole vaulters at Char-Lan DHS are in fine form, with several athletes taking gold medals as SD&G champions. With no official events held as part of the SDGAA meet last week in Ottawa, the results were determined from other competitions for the Crusaders.

Among these is Mackayla Petrie (seen in photo here in a recent practice session), who enters EOSSAA as the SD&G champ.

"It looks pretty competitive this year," she says, adding that she's having plenty of fun in her last year of high school competition.

Rory Blackadder coaches the pole vaulters, while Clem Distefano coaches the other disciplines.

The May 17 edition of The Glengarry News has more details. Complete SDGAA meet results can be accessed here.
