We have details in this week's edition of The Glengarry News of the local connection to Team HEO, which last weekend claimed bronze at the OHL Gold Cup, in Kitchener.
Multiple reports out of Belleville this afternoon suggest it's a done deal, that the OHL Belleville Bulls have been purchased by Michael Andlauer, who owns the AHL Hamilton Bulldogs (the famr team of the Montreal Canadiens which will be moving to St. John's, NL at the end of this season). The reports indicate the OHL Bulls will be moved to Hamilton for the 2015-16 season.
Sources are unable to get official confirmation from any team representatives or league officials. However, an official announcement is expected imminently.
Williamstown's Andrew Ming currently plays for the Belleville Bulls, and Simon Besner of North Lancaster is a 2013 draft pick of the team. Remi Elie of Green Valley was traded mid-season from Belleville to the Erie Otters.
Green Valley's Remi Elie is racking up the points as a member of the OHL Erie Otters. Since being traded to the club from Belleville, Elie has notched 25 points in 18 games and has a +18 rating.
Tonight, he and his teammates will be playing in Owen Sound.
Elie is a 2013 second-round draft pick of the NHL Dallas Stars.
NHL draft pick and Green Valley native Remi Elie will be featured in tonight's nationally-televised OHL game on Sportsnet, as his Erie Otters take on the Kingston Frontenacs.
