The 'Cats had a 21-7 lead at the end of the third quarter in Toronto, before a series of miscues led to their downfall.

The boys will be looking to rebound on their home field this weekend.

The count contingent on this year's roster is Rylan Duhart (#67, offensive lineman), Cameron Howes (#33, linebacker), Terry Dogbey (#21, defensive back), and Simon Korteweg (#20, wide receiver).

Bainsville's Alex Labonte is the Wildcats defensive coordinator, with fellow Glengarrians Dylan Hambleton and Costa Zarifi also part of the coaching ranks.

After a week-one bye, the Cornwall OVFL Wildcats are set to kick off their season on Sunday, May 28, on the road against the Metro Toronto Wildcats.

The home opener will be Saturday, June 3, versus the York Region Lions. That's a 1pm kickoff at Joe St. Denis Field, in Cornwall.

The OVFL has seen a number of changes for the 2017 season, including several teams jumping to a rival league. Among these departed squads are Kingston and Cumberland, which in past years have been rivals for the Wildcats.

There are now 11 teams in the league, with Cornwall and the Ottawa-based Myers Riders the lone entrants from Eastern Ontario.

As in seasons past, the OVFL Wildcats include some county representation. Amongst the coaching staff are Glengarrians Dylan Hambleton, Costa Zarifi, Alex Labonte, and Don Duhart. County players on the team include Rylan Duhart, Cameron Howes, Terry Dogbey, and Simon Korteweg.
