Pickleball takes over Lancaster Curling Club
On the heels of successful pickleball programs in Cornwall and Alexandria, Lancaster caught the bug this spring, as the sport took over the concrete pad at the Lancaster Curling Club, immediately after the ice was taken out.
A group some 22 strong has been meeting each Wednesday evening for lessons, setting the stage for league play to begin next week.
The final night of lessons takes place tomorrow, May 3, from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m., under the auspices of instructor Sue Forget.
The pad in Lancaster offers two pickleball courts, with the league set to take flight Monday and Wednesday evenings through the summer. Monthly cost to participate is $20.
We will have more in next week's edition of The Glengarry News.
