Cornwall junior 'A' Colts head coach Ian MacInnis was one of five finalists for the Canadian Junior Hockey League Coach of the Year award.

Greg Walters (Georgetown, OJHL) was named COY this week.

MacInnis guided the Cornwall Colts to an impressive turnaround from missing the playoffs in 2015-16 to a second place overall finish in the regular season in 2016-17. The Colts finished with a 41-14-4-3 record, including an impressive run of 23-2-1 to wrap up the regular season.

"It’s an honour being named as a finalist for Coach of Year," said MacInnis. "There are 132 CJHL coaches to choose from every year so this is special."

The other finalists were Tom Keca (Fort McMurray, AJHL), Bliss Littler (Wenatchee, BCHL), and Paul Dyck (Steinbach, MJHL).
