New photo galleries have been posted to our website, including images of action from games 6 and 7 of The Glengarry News Hockey Cup.
Other new galleries are the Char-Lan Skating Club showcase, midget girls championship hockey, women's volleyball at the dome, and the Jimmy Hill memorial hockey game.
Today in their home gymnasium, Char-Lan's senior girls volleyball team nabbed the 'A' playoff championship. Will will have all the details in the next edition of The Glengarry News.

The senior girls volleyball team at Williamstown's Char-Lan District High School finished the SDGAA volleyball season first place in the standings, earning the right to host the 'A' playoff tournament, which is set for Monday, Feb. 13.
Note (updated Feb.13): Due to school bus cancellations, scheduled games for Feb. 13 have been postponed. Watch for our new story with updated information, as it becomes available.
The top six finishers – Char-Lan (1st), La Citadelle (2nd), GDHS, North Dundas, Seaway, and Tagwi – qualify for the competition.
Here's the schedule of matches:
- 9am: GDHS vs Tagwi (qf1)
- 10am: North Dundas vs Seaway (qf2)
- 11:15am: Char-Lan vs lowest-seeded winner of quarter-finals (sf1)
- 12:30pm: La Citadelle vs highest-seeded winner of quarter-finals (sf2)
- 2pm: championship match
Junior 'A' playoffs
L'Heritage is hosting the junior 'A' playoffs also on Monday. Both Tagwi (6th) and GDHS (5th) have qualified.
'AA' division playoffs
Junior 'AA' playoffs will be hosted by St. Joseph's on Feb. 16, the same day as the senior 'AA' playoffs at Holy Trinity.
In junior girls volleyball, at a Dec. 8 tournament in Rockland, Le Relais lost its opening matchup to the home team, 'AA' L'Escale, on scores of 23-25 and 23-25. Les Rapides then prevailed over St. Francis-Xavier, 25-8 and 25-22.
The girls went on to fall to top-ranked Casselman 'AA' in the day's semifinal. Scores were 16-25 and 18-25.
Dec. 15 in Casselman, Les Rapides began with a pair of wins, beating ESCRH (25-12, 25-17) and St. Thomas (25-23, 25-22). The girls then dropped their semifinal to Plantagenet (23-25, 22-25).
Le Relais is competing in tier 1 of the PRSSAA high school league and is coached by Hubert Gauthier.
Le Relais' girls varsity hockey team opened its PRSSAA league season earlier this month, getting off to what coach Lisa Ann Belle-Isle describes as "a good start to our season."
The ladies skated to a 5-0 victory against École secondaire catholique L'Escale. They followed up with a 4-1 winover St. Thomas Acquinas.
Les Rapides will next see league play in February.
