The Char-Lan junior 'B' Rebels of the CCHL2 wrapped up the 2017 portion of their schedule on Saturday night, scoring a home-ice victory over the Brockville Tikis, and we will have the story in the next edition of The Glengarry News.

On Dec. 20 in Williamstown, the experience of basketball players from Holy Trinity was on full display, as the senior and junior boys teams romped over the Char-Lan Crusaders in SDGAA action.

In the CCHL2 last weekend, the Char-Lan Rebels dropped a pair of games, including a 4-1 loss on home ice to the Perth Blue Wings.
Derek Lister had the lone Rebs goal in the Dec. 16 contest, with Jason Cossette and Pierre-Luc Sabourin earning assists. Dawson Irving took the loss in net, facing 25 shots.
Last Sunday night in Winchester, the Rebels were dropped 2-1 by the lowly Winchester Hawks, as former Char-Lan goaltender Darien Johnson made 34 saves for the Hawks. Dylan Seguin had the goal for the Rebels, assisted by Brennan Markell. Grant Craig was tagged with the loss, facing 29 shots.
The team's last win came Dec. 12 on the road against the Carleton Place Jr. Canadians, with Craig making 31 saves in a 5-2 victory. Char-Lan's offence was led by Sam Ferland (2 goals) and Evan Huntley (3 assists). Other point-getters were Markell (1G, 1A), Taran Fiacco (1G), Mathieu Sabourin (1G), P. Sabourin (1A), Andrew Mercer (1A), Parker Tallman (1A), Zenin Biron (1A), Sam Gaudreau (1A), and Ryan Lamer (1A).
The Rebels are currently 14th overall in the league, with a record of 10 wins, 23 regulation-time losses, and 1 overtime loss.
A team of OPP officers is scheduled to play the Char-Lan DHS boys hockey team in an exhibition game Monday afternoon in Williamstown, raising funds in support of the Julie MacLachlan Foundation.
Students from the high school will be filling the stands.
