A 69-year-old Gatineau man was killed and a 34-year-old Cornwall woman seriously injured in a head-on collision on County Road 43 near Avonmore January 23 at 10 p.m. The man was driving a passenger vehicle westbound when it crossed into the eastbound lane and struck another passenger vehicle. The lone occupant of the westbound vehicle was pronounced dead at the scene. The woman was transported to the hospital with serious non-life threatening injuries. Names are being withheld pending notification of next-of-kin.
A section of Highway 401 remains closed following a multiple vehicle collision on Highway 401 between Prescott and Highway 416.
Preliminary investigation has indicated that two transport trailers and three vehicles were travelling eastbound on Highway 401 when the collision occurred.
Two individuals were pronounced deceased at the scene. Three individuals have been transported to the hospital by ambulance and one individual by air ambulance with serious and life-threatening injuries.

A 32-year-old Rivière Beaudette woman was killed in a six-vehicle collision on Highway 401 in South Glengarry Monday.
Kimberly Oosting was pronounced dead at the scene of the accident which occurred in the westbound 401 near the Ontario-Québec border at about 2:30 p.m.
