Recently, the senior boys soccer team from Glengarry DHS competed at a tournament in Kingston.
The Gaels beat Notre Dame from Carleton Place 1-0, lost to Holy Cross (AAA team) from Kingston 2-1, and beat Granite Ridge from Sharbot Lake 7-0.
Char-Lan DHS' two midget doubles teams were silver medallists at the SDGAA championships, held earlier this month in Cornwall. Crusader duos Wyatt Zimmer and Connor Spence, and Maggie Hope and Frances McDonell both teams lost in their respective finals.
Tuesday evening saw Tagwi Secondary School host high school all-star basketball players from across SD&G. The evening included a girls game, a boys game, and skills competitions. We will have photos and a story in The Glengarry News next week.

In an upset over St. Joseph's today, the Char-Lan Crusaders claimed the SD&G boys hockey playoff championship, with a 6-4 decision at the Long Sault arena.
Unfortunately, the action happened after The News went to press this week, so we will have coverage in next week's newspaper. We do have a wrap on the regular season in our Feb. 27 edition.

The annual Bishop Cup Catholic high school hockey rivalry game between Holy Trinity and St. Joseph's is scheduled for Wednesday, Feb. 27, at the Cornwall Civic Complex, starting at 6:30 p.m.
This is a charity contest where supporters of the Falcons and Panthers are encouraged to come out in school colours, ready to cheer.
SD&G high school league boys hockey playoffs are scheduled for Tuesday, Feb. 26, at the Long Sault Arena.
Semifinal #1, at 9 a.m., will feature St. Joseph's against la Citadelle, while the second semi, at 10:30 a.m., will have Char-Lan skating against North Dundas.
The championship game is booked for a 1 p.m. opening puck drop.

Rescheduled due to inclement weather and bus cancellations last week, the SD&G high school curling championships are taking place today and tomorrow, in Morrisburg.
Char-Lan DHS has two girls rinks and one boys team competing in the event, while Glengarry has a team in each division (boys, girls, mixed). Tagwi is only entered in the boys group, while Holy Trinity's lone team is a female foursome.
Today's school closures due to the approaching winter storm forced the postponement of a slate of high school boys basketball games that were to wrap up regular-season play. Instead, the matches will now be played Thursday, Feb. 14. St. Lawrence is the host. Tagwi's senior squad is booked to play twice (at 10 a.m. versus l'Heritage and 1 p.m. against the Saints), while the junior Warriors will take on St. Lawrence at 11:30 a.m.
As a result of this change, 'A' playoffs, originally slated for Thursday, have been moved.
The senior tournament will go Friday at St. Lawrence. Joining the Saints will be Glengarry, Tagwi, and l'Heritage, though seeding won't be finalized until the Thursday's games have been played. Semifinals are slated for 9:30 and 11 a.m., with the championship game at 1 p.m.
Junior 'A' playoffs are now scheduled for Feb. 19, at la Citadelle. Char-Lan and St. Lawrence are scheduled to battle in a semifinal, at 11 a.m., while the other, at 9:30 a.m., will feature the host Patriotes against either Seaway or Tagwi (depending on the result of the Warriors' game on Thursday). The title tilt is slated for a 1 p.m. start.
Tagwi Secondary Schools junior Warriors girls volleyball team completed the SDGAA regular season atop the standings, earning the right the host the 'A' playoff tournament, which is scheduled for Monday, February 11.
The qualifiers and their seeds are as follows: 1st Tagwi, 2nd la Citadelle, 3rd North Dundas, 4th Heritage, 5th Glengarry, 6th Char-Lan
The day's schedule will begin with North Dundas playing Char-Lan at 10:30 a.m, followed by a match between Heritage and Glengarry, starting approximately 11:30 a.m. The host Warriors will first see action at 12:45 p.m., playing the lowest remaining seed in the first semifinal match. La Citadelle gets the other semi, at 1:45 p.m, versus the remaining quarter-finalist.
The championship match is booked for a 3 p.m. start.
All matches are best two of three sets.
