sean Oct 25, 2018 - 4:09pm

Regular-season action in the SDGAA high school varsity football league concluded today, when the Glengarry Gaels dispatched the CCVS Raiders, and the Holy Trinity Falcons prevailed over the Tagwi Warriors.

Final standings: St. Joseph's 5-0, Holy Trinity 4-1, la Citadelle 3-2, Glengarry 2-3, CCVS 1-4, Tagwi 0-5.

Playoff semifinals next week will feature the Panthers and Raiders on Thursday, with the Falcons and Patriotes playing on Friday.

Despite finishing in fourth place, the Gaels are barred from post-season play due to a league decision imposed because Glengarry's team is a combined effort of GDHS and VCI.

We will have all the details in The Glengarry News next week.

Ch-ch-ch-changes to high school football schedule

sean Oct 3, 2018 - 10:05am

One might be left to wonder if a high school football game between the Tagwi Warriors and CCVS Raiders will actually hit the gridirion this season. Originally scheduled for later this month, the contest was moved forward to yesterday, Oct. 2, but there were no referees available, so the game couldn't go on.

The latest update has it being played Friday, Oct. 5, at noon, at Tagwi SS.

Speaking of changes, the Glengarry Gaels game scheduled for Friday has been postponed to a date yet to be determined.
