The senior boys soccer team from Char-Kan DHS hit the pitch in Cornwall on Monday, dropping a 2-1 decision to St. Joseph's before pounding host St. Lawrence 8-0.
The results give the Crusaders a record of 7 and 1.

At last week's SD&G high school track and field championships in Ottawa, Holy Trinity CSS won the overall school title, with 454 points, ahead of Tagwi, which had 418.
L'Heritage was third, followed by St. Joseph's, CCVS, North Dundas, Char-Lan, Glengarry, Seaway, St. Lawrence, and la Citadelle.

The boys hockey team from Williamstown's Char-Lan DHS is competing this afternoon for the SD&G high school hockey championship. The Crusaders won their semifinal game this morning, 6-3 over Seaway.
Today's title tilt was scheduled for a 1 p.m. start, at the Char-Lan Rec. Centre. We will have results next week in The News, as this week's newspaper has already gone to press.

In Feb. 20 action at the Long Sault arena, the top-ranked Crusaders beat North Dundas 5-2, before falling 3-2 to La Citadelle, a team that finishes out of the playoff picture.

As the top seed, Char-Lan will host the SDGAA playoff tournament in Williamstown, on Feb. 27, starting at 9 a.m. when the Crusaders will take on fourth-place Seaway. At 10:30 a.m., second-place St. Joseph's will play North Dundas is the other semifinal.
The championship match is booked for a 1 p.m. start.
Unlike most high school sports, in hockey, 'A' and 'AA' ranked teams compete for the same playoff title and for the right to go on to a combined A/AA EOSSAA.
Seedings for upcoming EOSSAA tournaments are out, some of which we were able to get into The Glengarry News this week.
The Glengarry Gaels junior boys basketball team will be competing on Feb. 28 at the 'A' tournament in Renfrew, as the sixth seed. They have round-robin games scheduled against the second- and third-ranked teams, Rideau and St. Joseph's (Renfrew), respectively. The junior boys from Holy Trinity captured the SD&G 'AA' championship by crushing CCVS last week, 85-29.The Falcons are scheduled to compete in the 'AA' EOSSAA tournament as the second seed, on Feb. 21, in Pembroke.

The last regular-season tournament of the high school boys hockey league for SD&G teams is taking place today in Long Sault, where the Char-Lan Crusaders will be looking to maintain their perfect record.
