The Char-Lan junior 'B' Rebels made it an exciting game last Saturday night in Williamstown. Down 4-1 in the third period, the boys scored two in quick succession, as Liam MacDonald was rewarded for his gritty physical effort with a power-play marker, followed moments later by a breakaway goal from Brennan Markell.
That was as close as they could get, though, as the league-leading Ottawa Canadians turned up their defensive pressure to hang on and deal the Rebels a 4-3 loss.
Ryan Reifler also scored for Char-Lan, while Dillon Spinner, Sam Ferland, Justice Brownlee, Zach Auger, and Reifler.
In net, Julien Cholette started, playing 7:18 and allowing three goals on five shots. Grant Craig took over and went the rest of the way, giving up one goal on 20 shots.
