Alexandria, Williamstown to host CCHL2 hockey games Saturday night

There's a double-bill of junior 'B' hockey action set for the county tonight, Nov. 11.

In Williamstown, the Char-Lan Rebels are booked to host the Embrun Panthers, starting at 8 p.m.

The Alexandria game, at the Glengarry Sports Palace, is a rescheduled contest from the opening weekend of the season. The game will start with a score of 3-0 on the board for the Glens, as the boys host the Brockville Tikis, at 8 p.m.

Char-Lan Rebels skate on home ice tonight

The CCHL2 Rebels have a home game, at the Char-Lan Rec. Centre in Williamstown tonight, as the boys play host to the Winchester Hawks. Game time is set for 8 p.m.

Char-Lan Rebels score 1 win, 2 losses last week in the CCHL2

Rebels goalie makes 42 saves in 3-0 loss to Casselman

Char-Lan goaltender Darien Johnson stopped 42 shots on goal last night in Casselman, but it wasn't enough, as the Rebels went down to a 3-0 defeat at the hands of the Vikings.

The boys will be back on home ice Saturday night.

Char-Lan junior B Rebels have home opener tonight in Williamstown

The Char-Lan junior 'B' Rebels will host their home opener tonight, at the Char-Lan Rec. Centre in Williamstown. Puck drop is set for 8 pm, with the winless Perth Blue Wings providing the opposition.

Puck drops on round one of Battle of Glengarry tonight in Alexandria

The first regular-season meeting of the Char-Lan Rebels and Alexandria Glens is scheduled for tonight, Sept. 15, at the Glengarry Sports Palace in Alexandria, as the CCHL2 hockey rivals collide. Game time is set for 8 pm.

The Rebels (1-2) are coming off a road loss Tuesday in Ottawa, where Char-Lan was felled 7-3. The Glens (0-1) have played just one complete game thus far, a 3-1 loss to the Whitewater Kings at the league's showcase tournament.

Puck drops on junior B hockey season this weekend in Ottawa

Fans of the Alexandria Glens and Char-Lan Rebels won't have a chance to see their teams on home ice this weekend, as the clubs participate in the CCHL2 season-opening showcase in Ottawa.

First home game for the Glens is set for Friday, Sept. 15, with the Rebels skating on home ice the next night.

At this weekend's showcase, the Rebels are slated to play Saturday at 5:30 pm and Sunday at 8:15 pm. Alexandria's games in Ottawa are booked for Saturday at 8:30 pm and Sunday at 5:15 pm. The league is using the Sensplex at 813 Shefford Road for all over the weekend, as each of the CCHL2 teams is scheduled to play twice.

Junior B Rebels host pre-season contest tonight

The Char-Lan junior 'B' Rebels skate on home ice tonight, at the Char-Lan Rec Centre in Williamstown. It's a CCHL2 exhibition contest, set for a 7:30 pm start, as the Rebels look to finalize the team roster for opening day. The Casselman Vikings provide the opposition.

Last Friday, the team visited the Alexandria Glens. We have the story in the Sept. 6 edition of The Glengarry News.
