Christie at Dalkeith celebration

Acclaimed author, filmmaker and Canadian military historian Norm Christie tops the list of speakers slated to appear at the Dalkeith Recreation Association hall as part of this week’s On The Trail of Poppies celebration honouring Glengarry First World War recruits, which kicks off tomorrow, September 10.
Mr. Christie, who has written 20 books on the role of the Canadian military in both World Wars – including the 10-volume For King and Empire series on which the History Channel documentary of the same name was based – will present Masters of War: The Recruitment and Development of the Canadian Corps in the Great War on Saturday, starting at 9:30 a.m.
On The Trail of Poppies is a Dalkeith Historical Society (DHS) multi-platform event that runs from Thursday, September 10 to Sunday, September 13.
