Char-Lan duo wins opening tennis match at OFSAA

The Char-Lan DHS team of Tosha Burns and Jeremy McFarlane won its opening tennis match at OFSAA in Toronto today, beating a duo from Collingwood CI, 8-7.

The EOSSAA champions move on to play a Toronto pair next.

Update as of June 2 at 9am: Bruns and McFarlane dropped their second match on Monday afternoon, 8-1. They are slated to play game three around noon today.

OFSAA girls hockey update: Char-Lan drops second game

The Crusaders fell 5-2 in their second game at OFSAA this afternoon to drop to a 1-1 record. The game was the first lost all season for Char-Lan. Brooke Seguin had both tallies for the Crusaders.

Char-Lan faces a must-win situation in game three of the round robin, set for 5pm EST today. A live internet broadcast should be available at

Holy Trinity goes to 2-0 at OFSAA basketball

It was another decisive win for Holy Trinity's senior boys basketball team at OFSAA in Chatham this afternoon over host ESC Pain Court, 74-32. Thomas LeGallais was once again the top scorer, netting 25 points. Next up for the Falcons will be a 7pm quarter-final match versus Ashbury College. Char-Lan girls skate to 2-1 win at OFSAA

Char-Lan's girls hockey team is competing at OFSAA in Kenora (in far northwestern Ontario). The Crusaders triumphed in their opening match today, 2-1 over the host St. Thomas Aquinas H.S. team.

Char-Lan is the second seed at the tournament, entering OFSAA as both the SD&G and EOSSAA champion.

The girls will play twice on Tuesday to complete round-robin play. Be sure to check for updates.

Holy Trinity Falcons win first game at OFSAA

The senior boys basketball team from Holy Trinity got off to a solid start at OFSAA in Chatham this afternoon, when the Falcons spanked Englehart HS 76-46, led by Thomas LeGallais' 24 points.

The boys have the rest of today off, scheduled to next hit the hardwood Tuesday afternoon versus the host ES Pain Court squad, which was hammered in its opening match today.
