After The Glengarry News went to press this afternoon, the EOSSAA 'A' senior girls soccer final pitted two Alexandria-based schools against each other, with Le Relais shutting out Glengarry DHS to claim the championship and earn a trip to OFSAA.
We will have the details in next week's edition of The News, along with photos. In the meantime, here's an image of the girls from le Relais celebrating with their medals.
GDHS and UCDSB will be live broadcasting from the Gaels' soccer field on Wednesday, May 24, showcasing games played there as part of the boys 'A' EOSSAA tournament. Matches will also take place through the day on the field at the Glengarry Sports Palace, but a live web feed won't be available.

Coach Brandon Coleman reports that four Tagwi Warriors have qualified to compete at East Regionals track and field this week, including high jumper Annie Bender, who placed second in the junior girls division, with a 1.45 m effort.
In midget boys discus, Schuyler Schellenberg and Rylan Iwachniuk were second and third, respectively, with best marks of 36.12 m and 35.55 m.
Alex Small, in senior boys discus, was third at EOSSAA, throwing 40.16 m.

The decision desk at The Glengarry News is calling an all-Alexandria final in today's EOSSAA 'A' senior girls soccer tournament, in Alexandria, with the championship match set for a 3:30 p.m. kickoff.
GDHS scored 2-0 and 3-0 wins in round-robin play, while Le Relais beat Char-Lan 5-1 and then St. Michael's 5-0.

EOSSAA girls 'A' soccer is taking place today in Alexandria. In senior action earlier this morning, Le Relais spanked Char-Lan 5-1, after leading 4-0 at the half), while Glengarry DHS blanked Carleton Place 5-0, after holding a 2-0 edge at the half.

The 2017 EOSSAA 'A' girls soccer tournament will be played today in Alexandria, using fields at GDHS and the Glengarry Sports Palace. There are six senior teams competing, including the host Gaels, as well as Le Relais and Char-Lan. There's also a junior group.
Here's the schedule. The first game indicated takes place at the high school, while the second match listed at each time will go on the arena pitch.

- 2:20 pm JUNIOR CHAMPIONSHIP GAME (winners of noon matches), BRONZE GAME (losers of noon matches)
- 3:30 pm SENIOR CHAMPIONSHIP GAME (school field, no game on arena field)
