Truck stolen

September 28, between 8 a.m. and 1:30 p.m., a black 2007 Chevrolet Silverado extended cab pick-up truck (Ontario plates 9387XZ) was stolen from a property on County Road 27 in South Glengarry Township.

Anyone with information regarding the person(s) responsible for any incident should immediately contact SD&G OPP at 1-888-310-1122.

Should you wish to remain anonymous, you may call CRIME STOPPERS at 1-800-222-8477 where you may be eligible to receive a cash reward of up to $2000.

Glens get first win, skate into Williamstown tonight

It took five games, but the Alexandria junior 'B' Glens finally have their first win, having prevailed last night on home ice, over the Clarence Beavers. Tonight, the team skates south to Williamstown, to take on the Char-Lan Rebels, who are mired in a five-game losing slump.

Uttering threats charge

A Montréal man has been charged after Ontario Provincial Police officers intercepted a vehicle Thursday on Highway 401 in South Glengarry Township. The driver became aggressive with officers upon his arrest and verbally threatened them. Officers also seized a quantity of marijuana and a knife in the vehicle. While in custody at the detachment, the accused damaged a cell. Jimmy Arias, 29, is charged with uttering threats. possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose possession of a controlled substance, mischief and obstructing a peace officer. He was held in custody pending a bail hearing at the Cornwall court.

2 charged with thefts

Two North Glengarry residents have been charged after police recovered a quantity of stolen goods at a Main Street, Alexandria residence September 20.

Stephane Brassard, 44, and Rebecca Lacombe, 39, were charged with break and enter, possession of property obtained by crime.

Puck drops on Jr B Glens home opener tonight in Alexandria

Alexandria's junior B Glens hockey team has its home opener booked for tonight, in Alexandria, at the Glengarry Sports Palace. The opening puck drop is set for 8pm, as the 2-1 Metcalfe Jets will be in town. The Glens have struggled out of the gate this season, with just one point to show for three games.

As always, The Glengarry News will provide full coverage of the junior B Glens throughout the CCHL2 season.
