The Bears had forced overtime with a late third-period goal, after Christopher Mammas had given the Colts a 3-2 lead. Konnor MacCormick and Brennan Markell also scored for the Colts.

Cornwall outshot Smiths Falls 36-20, with Liam Lascelle picking up the goaltending victory.

Game two goes tonight in Smiths Falls. Game time is 7:30 at the Smiths Falls Arena.

The Colts and Bears return to Cornwall for game 3 on Sunday evening. Game time is 7pm at the Ed Lumley Arena in Cornwall Civic Complex.
