Seguin seeded second heading into U20 national pole vault competition

The county's own Brennan Seguin is seeded second entering the U20 men's pole vault competition, which will be held Sunday on the final day of the Canadian Track and Field Championships, in Ottawa.

The top-ranked vaulter is Jason Clare, checking in with a season-best mark of 4.70m, just ahead of Seguin at 4.65m. A Sherbrooke vaulter, Maxime Léveillé also has cleared 4.65m this season and is slated to jump eighth in the nine-man group.

Seguin, a student at Char-Lan DHS, trains with Rory Blackadder, of Martintown.

High school athletes competing at East Regionals track and field

A number of athletes from GDHS, Le Relais, Char-Lan, and Tagwi are competing this week at East Regionals track and field, looking to earn a trip to OFSAA, the provincial meet.

We have some photos and details in this week's edition of The Glengarry News and will have East Regionals results in our next issue.

Among the athletes competing this week is Char-Lan's Mackayla Petrie, seen here with pole vaulting coach Rory Blackadder, of Martintown.
