Driver seriously injured

One man is in serious condition after the vehicle he was driving rolled over in a ditch on County Road 43 near Alexandria Friday.

The accident occurred at 3 p.m. on County Road 43 between Boy Scout Road and Loch Garry Road.

The driver, who was the lone occupant, was taken to hospital with serious life-threatening injuries, reports the Stormont-Dundas-Glengarry Ontario Provincial Police.



Passenger killed in fatal crash

A woman was killed in an early morning single car accident when the vehicle in which she was a passenger rolled over on County Road 43 between County Road 20 and Pigeon Hill Road in North Stormont Township.

The accident occurred at 4:37 a.m. when the eastbound vehicle left the roadway and entered the ditch causing it to roll over.

The man driving the vehicle was transported to hospital with serious life threatening injuries.



Fatal on 417

A 23-year-old Ottawa man died Saturday when the vehicle he was driving rolled over on the eastbound Highway 417 near Dunvegan.

Matthias Foks was pronounced deceased at the hospital after the vehicle left the roadway, rolled over, coming to rest in the centre median, reports the Stormont-Dundas-Glengarry Ontario Provincial Police detachment.

Tractor trailer overturned

RolloverThe driver of this truck hauling peanuts suffered minor injuries when the tractor-trailer flipped on the eastbound on-ramp of Highway 401 in Lancaster at 6 a.m. today (December 2). When this photo was taken, the ramp was still closed. The highway in the area has been reduced to one lane and detours are in place to access the highway eastbound along South Service Road.

Fire fighter hurt, cruiser hit

A fire fighter was injured and an Ontario Provincial Police vehicle was struck following accidents on Highway 401 Saturday morning near Lancaster.
At about 7:54 a.m., Stormont-Dundas-Glengarry Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) officers responded to a report of a collision involving a South Glengarry Fire Department tanker truck. The truck was responding to another reported collision
when the volunteer firefighter driving the truck lost control, causing the unit to roll over. The driver was transported to hospital suffering from non-life threatening injuries.
Police closed off a section of the westbound lanes of Highway 401 re-routing traffic at the Lancaster exit. At approximately 8:40 a.m., a passenger vehicle lost control and collided with an unattended OPP vehicle used to alert oncoming traffic. A
female passenger in the vehicle received minor injuries. The 31-year-old male driver from Mirabel was charged with driving without insurance or permit.
A section of the highway remained closed for approximately three hours.


North Glengarry man injured in rollover

A 25-year-old North Glengarry man was transported to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries Tuesday after the fuel tanker truck he was driving rolled over on Highway 417, spilling fuel and forcing the closure of the road for about four hours.
Charges are pending against the owner of the vehicle, says Ontario Provincial Police Sergeant Janice Sawbridge.
The Hawkesbury OPP detachment continues to investigate the accident that occurred at 1:06 p.m. as the truck was travelling westbound on the 417 near County Road 4 in East Hawkesbury. The tanker contained over 18,000 litres of fuel at the time.
The Ministry of the Environment was consulted and the clean-up is continuing.
Charges are pending under the Dangerous Goods Transportation Act.
