The Glengarry Soccer League's senior men's finals are scheduled to kick off Wednesday evening, after a one-week layoff. We have the details in the Aug. 22 issue of The Glengarry News.

The best-of-three series will be a battle between Greenfield and Vankleek Hill.

The senior women's team from Dunvegan is the 2018 Glengarry Soccer League champion, and you can read all about the accomplishment in the Aug. 22 edition of The Glengarry News.

The Glengarry Soccer League's tier 2 men's division championship series is scheduled to kick off on Monday, Aug. 27 on the main field at Char-Lan District High School, where the unbeaten Celtics will tangle with McCrimmon. Start time is set for 8:30 p.m.

Game two will be played a week later on the pitch at Lochiel, and should a third match be needed, it will go back at Char-Lan on Sept. 6.

Semifinal play saw both teams sweep their opponents.

The Celtics got past Glen Nevis 4-3 (Tristian Derouchie, Shawn Montroy, Andre Sauve, and Alex Lillois scoring for the winning side, while Jason Van den Oetelaar with two and Hubert Gauthier had the replies) and 5-2, while McCrimmon beat Greenfield 5-3 and 7-0.

On their home pitch at Lochiel, the Laggan senior women's soccer team faces a must-win situation tonight to extend their season, while Dunvegan can clinch the 2018 Glengarry Soccer League championship with a win.

Dunvegan won the series opener Tuesday night, 3-0.

On Monday evening, Team Maxville claimed the U19 girls championship, beating Greenfield.

Playoff action in other divisions continues nightly through the next two weeks.

The 2018 senior women's division playoff final series, a best-of-three, kicks off tonight in Dunvegan, where the host squad will entertain the ladies of Laggan, in an 8:30 p.m. start.

On Saturday, Aug. 11, the Glengarry Soccer League held a U8 fun day in Alexandria, marking the end of the season for the young boys and girls. A photo gallery can be viewed here.

On Friday night, the soccer season came to an end for Dunvegan's senior men's squad, with a 5-1 loss to the powerhouse team from Vankleek Hill, which has now earned a berth in the GSL championship finals.

The other semifinal series has Greenfield leading McCrimmon one game to none, with the second match booked for Sunday night in Greenfield.
